Scholarship
Hawkins Foundation
The Hawkins Scholarship recognises and supports young people who are growing academically, personally and interpersonally, and who are committed to leading and contributing to their communities.
About the scholarship
Our community is run by its students. Young people take on real roles in communications and marketing, project coordination, peer tutoring, administration, quality and publishing. They are trained and coached by the Active Skills team and our parent advisory board.
The programme follows the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach: every young person already holds talents, relationships and experiences that can be discovered and put to work. Starting from what is strong, they learn what leadership really asks: listening, deciding, taking responsibility and lifting others up.
A year of full access to the Active Skills Online Self Study library, for young people who are ready to learn on their own.
Recognising young people who excel academically, grow as people, lead with purpose and serve their communities.
Created in loving memory of Tina Hawkins, this sponsorship gives financial support to orphaned children and people with disabilities.
Honouring the legacy of Alan and Deirdra Hawkins and their family by recognising young people who lead by serving others.
